Ever thought about renewing your wedding vows on Valentine’s Day?
This blog is for my married readers, have you ever thought about renewing your wedding vows? With Valentine’s Day only a few days away I started thinking would Valentine’s Day be a good time to renew your wedding vows? I probably spent too much time thinking about this subject (maybe that’s what happens to all Marriage Celebrants) In the end I think Valentine’s Day would be a great day to renew your wedding vows. You’d have an opportunity to express the love and commitment to your loved one.
However if you’re of the opinion that Valentine’s Day is just a commercial event; then when would you renew your wedding vows?
Here’s my thoughts of when it may be a good time to renew your weddings vows:
- On a significant wedding anniversary (i.e. 10 years, 20 years, 30 years married).
- On a significant birthday for either of the couple.
- At the same time you’re on a special holiday.
- Anytime that suits the couple.
Over Christmas I caught up with some good friends and they have been married for just over a year and on their wedding anniversary they read their wedding vows to each other. I thought that was a lovely tradition to continue.
In the end it doesn’t really matter when and where two people renew their wedding vows so long as the occasion is sincere and genuine.
If your contemplating renewing your weddings vows I’d be happy to help you.
