2018 Goals – Crafting Perfect Wedding Ceremonies for Everyone

As a Marriage Celebrant I thought I’d list a few of my goals for 2018.

Last year was my first year as a Marriage Celebrant and I enjoyed performing the role of a Marriage Celebrant. It’s always great to meet people and discover their reasons for getting married. And to then be able to craft a ceremony that describes the couple’s feelings to each other it’s almost magical.

So this year I’m keen to use my skills to craft the perfect ceremony for same sex couples. I’m intrigued with what some of the subtle differences there may be between same sex marriage ceremonies and the ceremonies I’ve created for ‘non-same sex couples’ (is that even a real-term?).

I’m sure there won’t be a huge difference when it comes down to crafting the perfect ceremony for any couple however I’m wondering how some of my ‘standard’ wedding interview questions are going to be received. For instance will a same sex couple be interested in the question about who’s giving one partner away to the other partner. Will one partner be walking done the aisle while the other waits up the front?

For me, I’m going to keep an open mind and throw the ‘wedding ceremony guide’ out the window and just go with the flow.

I think regardless of the gender, age, background of the couple that wants to get married my main goal will be to listen to the couple and really get a clear understanding of what they want to do to ‘tie the knot’.

Really my main goal for 2018 is to listen and communicate effectively with each and every couple I have the pleasure of marrying. It’s something they I prided myself on doing during 2017, so in 2018 I want to do it bigger and better than before. BY listening I can really understand the couple’s dreams and desires and create the perfect wedding ceremony for them

If you’re planning you’re wedding or know someone that is please let me know.
