Marriage Equality for all Australians

In my last post I mentioned that the Postal Survey results would be announced on the 15th November. And the good news is that over 7 million eligible Australian voters ticked Yes to the Same Sex marriage survey.

So there’s an over whelming 61% of Australian voters in favour for same sex couples to be married. It’s a fantastic outcome for marriage equality.

Now we have to wait for the Federal politicians to go through the legal process of bringing the change to the Australian Marriage Act of 1961 into effect so the definition of marriage is no longer exclusively ‘… the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others…’. I truly hope the politicians don’t delay in making the decision and they just vote YES for the legislation changes.

The other day I was updating my website to update my testimonials and I’m hoping the next update I will be making is to remove the section about performing ‘commitment ceremonies’. As these will become ‘MARRIAGES’ – I’m keen to make that change to my website ASAP.
